Okkervil River Video, Tour Dates, & Pics

photo : valerie@fremin.net
The Will Sheff led, Austin based Okkervil River has just recently released The Stage Names, the follow-up to 2005’s Black Sheep Boy, and the first video from this recording has just hit the digital highway. “Our Life is Not a Movie or Maybe” was directed by Margaret Brown who you might be familiar with via her direction of the Townes Van Zant documentary Be Here to Love Me. Austinites recently had the opportunity to see the band performing tracks from the new release at Waterloo records during an in-store performance, and if you missed out, the next opportunity to see the guys local won’t be until November’s Fun Fun Fun Fest. Enjoy the video, check out some photos from the in-store, and buy the record.

Hello,
I just noticed in the statistics for my website that 2 visitors had come from your site, so I thought I would check it out. I’m not sure what sent them our way, as I see no mention of DTO, but thank you all the same.
You have some very nice Okkervil stuff, particularly Valerie’s photo from the Waterloo in-store! It’s a great shot! I like it especially because you can see Scott (the videos and photos we have obscure him–and Pat to some extent)!
And your other content is making me nostalgic (I had to leave Austin this spring for reasons I now regret and cannot justify, I miss it terribly!). But nostalgia is good, it may motivate me to find a way home sooner. So thanks for that as well!
Oh, and look, I’ve babbled long past the point of polite introductions! Anyway, nice site, and fabulous Okkervil River content. If you’re interested in other things Okkervil, please feel free to fall Down The Oubliette. http://www.downtheoubliette.com.
Cheers!
