Do512 Presents: Oliver Future @ The Parish

Alas, I got to enjoy another fantastically entertaining show thanks to the recommendation of my good friend and Do512.com co-owner, Jimmy. Granted the last time Jimmy blindly sent me to a show I nearly ended up murdered in NYC at the hands of a creepy cab driver, this time I ended up in my bed, safe and sound, without any incidences on the friendly streets of good ol’ ATX.

Austin homegrown Oliver Future has left us for sunny LA but make it back often to remind us of what we are missing. Comprised of five unique and talented characters, Oliver Future took the Parish stage at midnight and rocked the stage for nearly an hour and a half. Although the crowd was not nearly as large as the boys deserved, those there did not hold back their excitement and love for the music. Lots of dancing and shouting made for a high energy room that seemed fuller than it was.

Beyond the music, a rockin’ mix of guitars, keyboards and drums, the band was a group of truly entertaining and distinctive individuals. Each had their own style, both in appearance and performance, which I found really enjoyable to watch. The guitar/tambourine playing cowboy, Sam Raver, had the most amazing ability to play the guitar as though his hand was disconnected from his arm. Lead vocalist, Josh Lit put on a fantastic show as he hammered down on his guitar, bouncing his entire body away. However, it was the sounds of Jordan Richardson playing the keys whilst harmonizing away with Lit that truly tickled me pink.

The entire show was nonstop entertainment and the guys went out with a bang playing a crowd rousing, hard rocking song that I wish I knew the name of! Thanks go out to Oliver Future and Do512.com for a great night of music and pure entertainment.
