I know, you’re thinking….enough with the Radiohead news already! Or maybe not? Maybe you just can’t get enough Radiohead, you just love everything about Radiohead, you obsess about Radiohead? If that is the case, and you haven’t already discovered these nifty little Radiohead jewels, then prepare yourself for childlike giddiness. The Rawking Refuses to Stop blog spot has a slew of new Radiohead live songs available for your listening pleasure. I have chosen ‘Down is The new Up’ as a sample of what you can find on the site.

Oh yeah. I forgot to mention that when ordering the new In Rainbows you get to choose how much you want to pay for the album. Crazy idea! Label execs are pooping in their pants right now. Shake up the music world you crazy Radiohead!!

Mental Update: When I first posted this, I hadn’t really taken into consideration the impact that this move from the band might possibly have on the future environment of the music industry. A quick breakdown in thoughts:

Radiohead may be changing the environment of the music business in regards to retail sales as well as label involvement. We all have to face the fact the the modern world is moving towards digital and the digital environment in the right hands with an established power behind it, can be extremely influential. Imagine a world where bands control the music that is released on their own terms, whether it be by determining a monetary value for their efforts, or how they decide to package their release. CD and Vinyl are great but you have to admit that digital is the future. Why would they need a label if they are intelligent enough to do this stuff on their own? I believe that Radiohead has just set a precedent for the the future of the the modern rock environment, and what follows should be an interesting turn of events. Okay, you still need someone to plot and plan you tours for you, cuz that is where the money is coming from in this day and time, and you need to sell some T-shirts, but the music is all yours if you want it to be!

Here’s to DIY!

The Hypebot has a great little piece on this recent move by the band
