One of my most recent favorite discoveries, and I should have listened to Andy Hull when he recommended these guys months ago, is Colour Revolt from Oxford, Mississippi. Last years self-titled EP has spent a good deal of time in the player, and the announcement of a new recording coming available soon, is the best news I’ve heard in days. Plunder, Beg, and Curse makes itself legal on April 1st, on the Fat Possum label. “Naked and Red” the first cut to surface from the upcoming release is available on the band’s myspace page.

If you enjoy a little guitar heavy angst ridden…rock delivered by a group of young southern gentlemen, then check out Colour Revolt.

The band will be hanging around Austin for SXSW 2008 as well, and you can be sure that the Itch will be seeking them out.
