One of my favorite bands, who have managed to stay relevant over many a year, Built to Spill, have a new album in the can, and plans for a fall tour. I can almost kick myself for not seeing last time they were in town recently. Becoming more common today with bands that have been around for a period of time, the performance of a favorite recording from front to back, is what Built to Spill have planned for their fall tour. Which album would you guess? Perfect From Now On is the recording, and although I once argued the fact that this was their best recording (I argued against), it has grown to be one of my favorites. The new recording probably won’t have a street date until Spring of 2009, but I imagine that the band will be trying out some of the new material on the road, after blasting through the Perfect From Now On set.
