Pure & Simple: Blind Pilot

In a year which I have been secretly organizing the next Rock-n-Roll Revolution, complete with wailing guitars, screeching vocals, thundering drums, and all that goes along with these beautiful things, along comes Blind Pilot. Two guys with an acoustic guitar, some drums, and various other instrument accoutrement’s, to shake me from the revolution front. Simple, pure, and quite enjoyable.
Blind Pilot are a duo consisting of college friends Israel Nebeker and Ryan Dobrowski, and have been quietly making an impact with critics and industry folks with their stripped down harmonious music bliss while most of us have been lost in the shiny bright lights of synthesised dribble. Pop sensibility wrapped loose in acoustic patience and personal lyrical stories. A pleasant unexpected surprise, that is only destined to find more success in the hearts of the true music fan. Patience required, and reward inevitable.
You’ll find the band tooling around town during SXSW, and back for a spot on the Mohawk stage on April 7th. You can bet that I’ll be there.
