Centromatic might be the headliner for tonight’s show @ The Parish, but the Austin based outfit Monahans has been a favorite of mine for a couple of years now and the opportunity to catch these guys live is a rare one these days. The band has it’s second full length recording Dim The Aurora is set for release on May 19th on the Misra label, and they are sure to be leaning heavy on tracks from the upcoming release. Monahan’s debut release Low Pining quietly made ripples in the music scene, receiving accolades from the recently faded Harp magazine, Magnet, and AustinSound.net, to name few, and has occupied plenty of quality time from myself. I can assure you that Dim The Aurora will expound on the musical landscape and imagery that this band so confidently creates.

Get there early for Monahans and stick around for that band called Centromatic.
