Video: Deer Tick On Le-Hibbo.com
Hope that you have about half an hour or so to kill with some video of what is one of my new favorite bands, Deer Tick. The band’s recent release The Black Dirt Sessions has completely sideswiped me and restored a faith in music that seemed fading or misplaced for a bit.
The band brings it’s dirt to Emo’s on Oct 13th..

As if this year hasn’t been pretty darn stellar for music, the L.A. based outfit that’s been turning heads for the better part of the last year, Warpaint have their debut full-length set for release. The Fool gets legal 10/25 on Rough Trade and the first track released for your ears is “Undertow”.

Bradford Cox and Co. are at it once again, shifting gears and throwing curve balls, while managing to keep us very interested. Halcyon Digest sees legal on Sept 28th and the band brings it’s cryptic rock to Austin for Fun Fun Fun Fest 2010.

As we all patiently await the release of The Black Angels highly anticipated 3rd full length recording Phosphene Dream, the band prepares to unleash some of the newly recorded material for a national television audience on Wednesday night. Tune to the Letterman show Wednesday to see Austin’s finest in psych light up the night. Maybe “Telephone”, or “Bad Vibrations”, or will they throw us a curve ball? Turn on, tune in, and drop out.

I gave you the acoustic version and now the “official” album version. Cloak and Cipher is quietly working it’s way into my psyche as it’s a departure from the band’s earlier work…in a really good way.
The band is here in Austin on Oct 15th @ the Parish. They don’t come around often, so you should check it..

Barely a week into their tour in support of their sophomore release Sugar, Dead Confederate rolled into Mohawk with fellow Athenians Futurebirds in tow to take part in the 23+ acts event @ Mohawk cleverly billed as Red River On The Rocks. Sponsored by Makers Mark no less. Futurebirds brought the anticipated smile of delight to my face while Dead Confederate blasted away at their catalog, spending as much time on older material as the newest. For the band’s encore, three -fifths of Dead Confederate was joined by three young members of local band Flock of Spiders, (Ben Redman, Deven Ivy, and Max Redman) for the first single from Sugar titled “Giving It All Away”. And they gave it all..all rock.
