It’s getting to be that time of year again, time for one of Austin’s premier music festival that continues to sell out rapidly and draw folks from all over the globe. As we do every year, we be posting a list of band’s, probably lesser known by many, that we have on our list to check out. Some old favorites and some that are sparking current curiosity.

The first band on our list, and this one was an easy one as they have been a personal favorite for years, specifically for the reason they released one of may favorite albums Gentlemen. The Afghan Whigs made their skid mark on the music scene in the early 90′s after forming in the late 80′s. Transcending the grunge movement the band established itself more as a post-punk garage outfit with lyrics fitting lengthy sessions with a therapist. A recent reunion of the band promises to relive the good ‘ol days of Jagermeister shots and unforgettable gentlemanly lyrics.
