Arcade Fire Video Fun “Black Mirror”

 blackmirror.jpg

Another fun interactive video from the kids in Arcade Fire for the song “Black Mirror”. It’s kinda fun actually, as you control the audio mix while watching the video. I’m guessing if I worked some office job, I’d probably piss off my boss to no end messing around with this kind of stuff.

Win A Trip To SXSW 2008 @ KEXP.org

 texasflyaway.gif

Our friends over @ KEXP have put together a sweet little contest/sweepstake which should be of interest to anyone living outside of the Austin area. Hell, it’s a good deal for anyone living in Austin as well, but the flight wouldn’t last long enough for peanuts and a cocktail. A $35 pledge to the station gets you in for the drawing, and giving these guys money is a great idea even if there isn’t a prize involved. They are the prize. Where else can you hear Band of Horses followed up by KISS?

KEXP and Live Historic Vintage Condominiums would like to fly you and a guest to the 2008 South by Southwest Music Festival, March 12th to the 16th, in Austin, Texas. Win airfare, hotel, passes to the festival by making a gift of $35 or more today.

The fly away to 2008 South by Southwest Music Festival package includes:

- Badges access for two to festival
- Airfare for two from anywhere within continental US to Austin, TX
- Hotel accommodations for four nights
- VIP credentials to KEXP live performances

lions-free-week.jpg

I know that I’m putting two shows in recommendation for Friday night 1.4.08, but my friends in Lions are playing Emo’s Free Week, and if you feel like getting your face rocked off, then this is where you should be. The guys released No Generation this past year and continue to ride high on the release garnering positive media attention even months after it’s release, and they tour their butts off, recently opening for The Toadies. They also have a song on Guitar Hero III, how much more rockin’ does it get?

No Generation

Outside: Lions / Brothers and Sisters / A Few Nice Things / Strange Attractors / Alright Tonight

Inside: Those Peabodys / Ugly Beats / Black Joe Lewis / Transmography

Lounge: Hex Dispensers / Ape Shits / The Teeners / Party Garbage / Scrabble Robot

Another Year End List Worthy of A Peek

light-in-the-attic.gif

Year end lists are in full sprung mode with everyone chiming in on the music and recordings of 2007. Seattle’s Light In The Attic Records (Blakes, Black Angels, Saturday Knights) have put together a list of their own, but it is a list that features the best of 2007 from a myriad of characters in the industry. Everyone from musicians, record shop owners, record label employees, retail store employees, and more have complied their list of the best of 2007 and it’s not all about music. It’s just about the best. You’ll find some very interesting participants in this list, and a little photo by myself included.

Get Your Radiohead Here! Cool Widget

Radiohead have packaged everything that has happened with the band over the last few months into one convenient widget. Kinda makes reporting anything new Radiohead obsolete. It’s cool and it concerns me.

Have fun!

Thanks to Daily Swarm for this one.
