death + taxes Goes Interactive

death + taxes small

One music magazine that doesn’t look to be in a state of near collapse (seen the latest issue of Paste? like my last date, thin and dull), death + taxes have introduced a new concept for the music magazine. The newest issue, featuring Jay Reatard on the cover, features this new technology, and one wonders if this is the wave of the future, or just a spitting breeze. Don’t get me wrong, I love this magazine, it’s one of current favs. I especially appreciate the fact that the fashion industry isn’t slut-ted out all over the musicians throughout the pages. I like to see Jay Reatard wearing what Jay Reatard likes to wear, not Jay Reatard wearing shirt by Rag & Bone, underwear by Hanes. I’m sure that’s a cool bonus for the musicians. That jacket sure does look familiar Brian…ahhh.

So here how this new technology works: Read more

Get Your Radiohead Here! Cool Widget

Radiohead have packaged everything that has happened with the band over the last few months into one convenient widget. Kinda makes reporting anything new Radiohead obsolete. It’s cool and it concerns me.

Have fun!

Thanks to Daily Swarm for this one.

The Hype-Machine Needs You! Really! You Should Read This

the-hype-machine.jpg

The Hype-Machine is a great website that allows you to find all the mp3s that you love, on all of the thousands of blog-sites that post mp3s for your listening pleasure. The new Hype-Machine needs to be fed apparently and won’t show it’s face until it is satisfied with 10,000 strong proving their loyalty to the machine. Log on to the new Hype-Machine page and help get it back to it’s lovable old self. Last I checked it was about 6,000 + viewers away from it’s goal.

By the way. Have you downloaded In Rainbows yet? Here’s is one reason to do so.

Cool Tech Product: MXPlay Brings the Online Revolution

 mxplay-logo-198v8151.png

So….you read blog sites, probably music blog sites, and you probably listen to a lot of music, if I’m not mistaken. That’s why most of us are here where we are right now, cruising the music blog scene. MXPlay is a new add-on for Firefox and IE that brings your blog/website/music experience to a whole new level in many different ways. I haven’t spent a lot of time with the tool, but what I have seen and heard about its potential is extremely intriguing. To begin with, if you read music blog sites and go to these sites for music, this little tool will auto detect any mp3s on the site that you are browsing and load them into a player that you can control. It not only plays the songs, but allows you to make adjustments to enhance the listening experience with some really cool control features like reverb, speaker placement, spatial expansion, etc. There are many more features I have yet to experience, and more on the way with a newer version that will include instant messaging. Browse, listen, mash, and message all at the same time! If that isn’t multi-tasking, then I don’t know what is.

Check out the site for more details and start your MXPlay experience now.
